The word “YAKKAI” means “Body” and “NERI” means “to regulate”. YAKKAI NERI YOGA is an intense style of yoga that focuses on building strength in the core muscles. As well as strengthening the core, this style of yoga is also great for bringing awareness into your body and improving your mental well-being. It’s one of the very best combinations of Yoga and Exercises.
The focus of a Yakkai Neri Yoga class is more on the workout than the spiritual side of yoga. However, you’ll be pushed to your limits and challenged to persevere in a way that can lead to wonderful progress in your self-development journey. While working on your core, your mind will be challenged, and you’ll likely see yourself in a new light.
As with any yoga practice, there are some general and some more specific benefits to practicing core yoga. Here are just a few of the benefits that you may experience.
Perhaps the most obvious benefit of Yakkai Neri yoga is getting a stronger core. This is great for the overall health of your body and your performance in other athletic activities. All forms of exercise rely on your core, and this yoga can help you achieve your goals faster.
Proper core-strengthening exercises work the muscles throughout your hips and torso, from front to back, top to bottom, and side to side. This helps to realign your hips and allows you to stand tall and straight. Good posture is essential for reducing the risk of herniated discs and spinal degeneration.
Strengthening your abdominal muscles will mean that you can breathe more effectively taking deep belly breaths as opposed to breathing into your upper chest. Focusing on breathing can help calm the mind.
A strong core keeps your body stable and will help to prevent injury. core strength is an essential component of injury prevention. By engaging in exercises that target the core muscles, we can improve stability and reduce the risk of pain and injury.
A strong core goes a long way in preventing or reducing back pain in day-to-day life. Having a strong core allows you to use your muscles for force instead of relying on your spine. It can also reduce back pain by helping you to avoid sprains, and twists.
A strong core will strengthen your bowel movements and prevent issues such as bloating, gas and constipation, Facilitates proper movements of bowel, Stimulates the flow of digestive juices, Increases blood circulation and enhances overall gut health.
On the mat, a strong core can help you hold many asanas longer and steadier. Off the mat, though, especially as we age, balance becomes increasingly important to keep you from falling and from getting injured. A strong core makes it so you can move any which way and not falter or lose your balance.
The first and most obvious benefit of Yakkai Neri yoga, improved flexibility tends to be clearly evident, even to beginners. Moving and stretching in new ways helps to increase the range of motion and lubrication which is key to performing everyday activities with ease.
